I really enjoyed this pilot. The animation is really high quality and it was funny too. However, I am a bit confused by the ending. The cat said that he managed to warm up to the idea of leaving the house, but this feels contrived for the sake of a message because he hated it right up until he drank booze just before leaving. To me, the alcohol feels a bit like a Deus ex Machina that swoops in to make a point. Also, the mouse holding onto the girls' coats seemed like a reasonable decision until the girls were revealed as stereotypical mean girls at the end. In future, I would recommend showing messages organically rather than having an explicit message that focuses on things added to the climax while ignoring the rest of the story.

Wow. This is really good, especially for a clamation. This took a lot of dedication and effort.

Solid and straight to the point. Animation is good and the scenario is funny.

Thank you!

This visual novel fails to maintain interest. Once you play through a few different options on the same character, it becomes clear that your choices only lead to slight differences before the story goes back on the exact same track. For example, if the Russian student doesn't study, the physics teacher notices but it's never brought up again. There are also many choices (such as food and music) that blatantly don't matter while not giving you choices (such as who you sit with or whether thed Russian student chases after ther phone thief) that would lead to interesting consequences. Because of this, it feels like the player's decisions don't matter. The game would be better if there were some terrible options that could cause a game over (e.g. by your character getting arrested), since this would make people think carefully about their options, keeping them engaged.

Good pong game with great graphics. I would recommend changing P1's controls to 'W' for up and 'S' for down, as that is more standard.

KaijuRex responds:

Yes, I'll keep that in mind for next time.

Fun concept, but the spikes can spawn very close to you (like a few pixels away) and I think I've had one spawn right on top of me. You could fix this by checking the spike proximity to the player so that spikes cannot spawn too close, or making spikes unable to hurt you until they start moving.

deanyburger responds:

Okay. So, I went on Scratch because it's the main source of this game. And I went into the codes and I made it to where if it was touching the character, it would move back 25 steps. So, it should be fixed.

The song is pretty good. However, an important part of EDM (which is the parent genre of dubstep) is having a build-up before the drop. This can be easily done with noise that rises in pitch or drums that get incrementally faster (although there are more advanced ways to do it). This song seems to jump right into drops. If you add a basic build-up before, the drop will feel more satisfying.

Muffinly responds:

Thanks for the feedback! Although I will admit that I felt kinda rushed when making this track, and its remix (Which is kinda the same but with more melody, made just to sync with an official RS level, and it will come out on Friday). I suggest checking out my other songs. Viridescence, Technolaxy & Mello Dancer are my favorite songs I made.

The instrumental sounds good but the vocals' timings are strange. I would recommend adjusting the timings to fit the instrumental better or just removing the vocals.

I really like this song. It sounds a lot like real chiptune and it's a very catchy song.

PS: I have added an extract of the song to Wikimedia Commons as an example of arpeggio in 8-bit music and it is currently in Wikipedia's article on the technique.

This is so very cute. However, I can clearly see some patterns overlayed. I'm guessing this is to prevent AI from scraping your work, but it's obvious enough to negatively affect the quality. You could try lowering the intensity to try to get a level that's less obvious but still protects your work.

Looking good! Welcome to Newgrounds.

The way Mario is drawn is so cute!
