Fun concept, but the spikes can spawn very close to you (like a few pixels away) and I think I've had one spawn right on top of me. You could fix this by checking the spike proximity to the player so that spikes cannot spawn too close, or making spikes unable to hurt you until they start moving.

Okay. So, I went on Scratch because it's the main source of this game. And I went into the codes and I made it to where if it was touching the character, it would move back 25 steps. So, it should be fixed.

This game is really fun. The art is good and it was hilarious seeing all the junk at the end. I got the cheater achievement but I'm not sure what mechanic I was apparently exploiting. It may be better to make the achievement secret if it is not already and explain the exploit.

Good idea, but the controls don't make much sense to me. D and A would feel better for movement. Also, you might want to add something telling the player how to move because at first I thought that I couldn't move.

Pretty good mechanics. However, the art could use some touching. Anti-alaising tends to not look very good on pixel art, so I would recommend removing it. Also, I noticed that my spaceship was slowly being pushed to an edge, which makes you unfairly vulnerable to anything coming from there.

Sorry if the controls weren't clear, but you can use wasd and arrow keys

I love the art and sound, and they are probably the strongest points. However, the friction feels too low, which makes it annoying to adjust on small platforms. Also, bouncing back projectiles is quite annoying and unsatisfying, especially since there are other methods that are less annoying. It takes me ages to get the nut to land perfectly, at which point I am fed up. I'm also not sure when I'm attacking ememies whether they need mulitple hits to be defeated or are simply immune to the type of attack. Some sort of indicator would help here.

Quite a fun game!
(By the way, the graphics are 1-bit, not 2-bit. 1-bit is when graphics have 2 colours and 2 bits is when graphics have 4 colours)

santumerino responds:

Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it :D
I contest that these *are* 2-bit graphics, because the subtitle at the beginning telling you the controls uses two shades of grey, so there's a maximum of 4 colours on screen at a time. Very valid point, though!

The mechanics are good and the art's not bad. However, the music does get annoying after a while. Also, I can see that you attempted to use a subverted mechanic to fit the jam. However, the mechanic of the enemies mirroring the player has been done quite a few times. Overall, though, it's still a good game.

This game is pretty good. The art and music were good choices and the mechanics are fun. However, you could do with adding checkpoints. Right now, it's frustrating to have to do the entire level again because you messed up well into it. Also, it seems that the music is 3D and fixed to the start, causing audio panning to the left as you navigate the level. To fix this, you may be able to make the music object move with the player or ignore the player's location. Overall, a good game.
