Pretty good mechanics. However, the art could use some touching. Anti-alaising tends to not look very good on pixel art, so I would recommend removing it. Also, I noticed that my spaceship was slowly being pushed to an edge, which makes you unfairly vulnerable to anything coming from there.

Sorry if the controls weren't clear, but you can use wasd and arrow keys

I love the art and sound, and they are probably the strongest points. However, the friction feels too low, which makes it annoying to adjust on small platforms. Also, bouncing back projectiles is quite annoying and unsatisfying, especially since there are other methods that are less annoying. It takes me ages to get the nut to land perfectly, at which point I am fed up. I'm also not sure when I'm attacking ememies whether they need mulitple hits to be defeated or are simply immune to the type of attack. Some sort of indicator would help here.

Quite a fun game!
(By the way, the graphics are 1-bit, not 2-bit. 1-bit is when graphics have 2 colours and 2 bits is when graphics have 4 colours)

santumerino responds:

Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it :D
I contest that these *are* 2-bit graphics, because the subtitle at the beginning telling you the controls uses two shades of grey, so there's a maximum of 4 colours on screen at a time. Very valid point, though!

The mechanics are good and the art's not bad. However, the music does get annoying after a while. Also, I can see that you attempted to use a subverted mechanic to fit the jam. However, the mechanic of the enemies mirroring the player has been done quite a few times. Overall, though, it's still a good game.

This game is pretty good. The art and music were good choices and the mechanics are fun. However, you could do with adding checkpoints. Right now, it's frustrating to have to do the entire level again because you messed up well into it. Also, it seems that the music is 3D and fixed to the start, causing audio panning to the left as you navigate the level. To fix this, you may be able to make the music object move with the player or ignore the player's location. Overall, a good game.

The idea, art and music are pretty good. However, the dog's jump feels a bit too high to be plausible and breaks the immersion.
Also, you could do with implementing checkpoints. It can get really annoying to complete the same part that you have mastered over and over just to get back to the part you are struggling with. Hope this helps!

Thanks for the feedback!
I hadn't thought about the jump, so I'll try to improve it, and the save points have already been mentioned several times, so I'm already working on them.

The art and sound is great! However, the walking transitions are a bit long. You might want to make the protagonist walk faster.

The art and voiceoer is great, but there does not seem to be a way to move. What are the controls for the game?

Quite a fun game, but I don't understand how I am gaining/losing $4B at once or losing money by approving claims from profitable people who survive.
Edit: Also got a 69-year-old whose condition was 'Premature birth'

Money is gained based on a randomly changing monthly premium (not visible) that is multiplied by your clients. No matter what you do you will profit, just a bit slower. Same applies for gaining clients. The game “ticks” when you approve or deny. The clients conditions, costs, etc are randomly generated. It’s more of a satire piece than an actual game haha.

To get past the tutorial, I need to press space. However, pressing space does not work. You might want to check if the keybindings and code are ok. Also, the resolution of the hearts is distractingly poor. You might want to look for higher-quality sprites or make some yourself. Finally, to convince more people to play your game, try to get a screenshot of the gameplay to post as the thumbnail. It won't be the best, but it shouldn't be much work and it'll be far better than the blurry ground tile that is the current thumbnail. Hope this helps!

BassamX101 responds:

Thanks for the comment!

But the space button is working with me and I have checked the code and there's no problem with it.

And The thumbnail and hearts ill work on it!
